Mariela Palencia is a classically trained vocalist and pianist from the Washington DC area. She is an undergraduate at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University where she is a vocal performance major in the studio of Elizabeth Futral.
In addition to performing as a featured soloist with the Peabody vocal ensembles, Mariela has also taken a leadership role in an original club on campus. This club curates performance opportunities for students outside of the recital environment. This club has gained popularity on campus and won several awards.
Mariela has won many awards and competitions over the years, including 1st place in the Schmidt High School Vocal Competition and 1st place in the Music International Grand Prix.
